Who we are
BenChecked LLC operates BenChecked. For privacy questions, access, correction, or deletion requests, email privacy@benchecked.com.
Information we handle
We handle information you provide, including your name, email, profile photo, neighborhood, business details and contact links, reviews and review photos, friend and professional connections, messages, neighborhood requests and addresses supplied for their review, and subscription details. We also process account activity, website or contact clicks, policy acceptance records, and technical information used to provide and secure the service. Phone information may be handled if a phone feature is enabled.
How we use information
We use information to create and maintain accounts, display profiles and reviews, provide neighborhood discovery and connections, deliver messages and notifications, calculate ratings and professional activity statistics, process memberships, respond to support requests, investigate misuse, and meet legal obligations.
What other people can see
Names, public profile information and photos, neighborhood membership, reviews, review photos, ratings, and connection counts can be visible to others through the platform. Professional business contact details are intended to be public while the listing is active. Do not include confidential information in public profiles or reviews. Exact addresses supplied for neighborhood requests are intended for administrative review, not public profiles.
Messages and administrative access
Messages are visible to conversation participants. They are not end-to-end encrypted. Authorized personnel may access records when needed for support, safety, investigation, or legal obligations. Cancellation of a professional membership does not erase the participants’ existing conversation history.
Providers and sharing
We use service providers to host and secure the site, authenticate accounts, store records and files, process payments, and handle support email. These currently include Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare/Sites hosting, and Microsoft for business email. Stripe processes checkout payment information; BenChecked does not store full payment card numbers in its application database. Providers handle information under their own terms and our service arrangements. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable protections.
Cookies and device storage
The site uses browser storage and authentication technology to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and operate features. A “keep me signed in” choice can retain your session across visits. You can sign out or clear your browser storage; doing so may reset preferences or end your session.
Retention and inactive businesses
We retain records as needed to operate the service and for legitimate billing, security, and legal purposes. Inactive professional memberships retain their records and past conversations, while public listing access and account actions are restricted. Request deletion at privacy@benchecked.com; retention of particular records may be required or appropriate for legal obligations, disputes, fraud prevention, or backup recovery.
Your choices and security
You can edit available profile fields and update or delete your reviews through your account. Contact privacy@benchecked.com for other access, correction, or deletion requests. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. We use access controls and service-provider security features, but no service can guarantee absolute security. Available privacy rights depend on applicable law.
Age, processing locations, and updates
The platform is intended for adults 18 and older. Contact us if a child’s information was submitted. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate. We will update this page when our practices change and communicate material changes through the service or account email.
